KATE FLEMING
Fishing & Fly Tying
Blairgowrie, Scotland

A Traditional Perthshire Fishing Tackle Shop
Kate Fleming’s is a family owned business offering fishing tackle, outdoor clothing and an extensive range of unique fly-tying materials.
The shop was established over 30 years ago and Kate and her son Paul offer a combined 75 years of experience in supplying tackle, information and advice to fishermen and fisherwomen from across the globe.
We are stockists of several leading brands including Sage, Vision, Redington, Snowbee, Airflo, Rio and Hoggs of Fife, as well as flies by Caledonia Fly Company and some locally tied specials. We also have an expanding range of fly-tying materials, hooks and tools.
We keep some demo rods and lines and encourage customers to “Try before you buy” where possible. We can also, with notice, arrange the hire of tackle and waders. We offer permits and contacts for the local waters, as well as friendly advice on parking, access, flies and more.
Our opening hours are Monday to Saturday 10.00 – 5.30, although we can stay open later by arrangement. Just call to let us know you are on your way.

Fishing in Blairgowrie

Being situated in Perthshire, we are privileged to be just a few miles from some of the best fishing in Scotland. We are within an easy drive from most of the top river fishing on the Tay and its tributaries, as well as some of the region’s best trout fisheries and lochs.
The River Ericht flows through the town of Blairgowrie and on for a further five miles before it joins the River Isla at Coupar Grange. The Isla then flows on for several more miles before it joins the Tay, near the village of Meikleour at the famous Islamouth. This is the most important branch of the Tay system, because it has the highest head of salmon returning to spawn of the whole system.
We issue permits for the Blairgowrie Rattray and District Angling Association for salmon, trout and grayling.

For further information about the Angling Association, please visit
We also issue permits for the Strathmore Angling Improvement Association for trout and grayling that cover several miles of the River Isla.
Fishing can be booked easily for many other beats on our local rivers through Fishpal.
If you are not sure how to contact a particular place, just get in touch with us and we will help as best we can.
